Repeatable events are the short generic events you can trigger in the sandbox mode (either through visiting a location when there are no story events available there at the moment, or through the phone for certain characters) that you can repeat to raise affection/lust with characters, but have no impact on the story itself and are not listed in the event tracker.
There are reasons Kurumi's development is slower than others, which will start to be addressed soon (she has 2 events planned for 0.9, hint hint).
In regards to updating the game, depending on your platform:
Windows/Linux/Mac: Saves are stored outside the game folder, so deleting the game folder should still keep your saves. It's also possible to just overwrite files in the old folder with the updated ones.
Android: Installing the new apk (whilst still having the old version installed) should overwrite the old app and keep your saves.

I have to say, honestly one of my favorite games I found, and it is by random. I really feel this should be more popular, especially with how the game is done, with the...well overarching story outside dating girls. The story is easily top tier, and I always kept guessing and fearing each step I took, especially near the end of chapter 1.

You can access messages for each character by going to their character screen (press "Characters" at the bottom or open the pause menu and press "Characters" on the left). You can find the messages button in the top right, next to the "Change outfit" and "Back" buttons (though it will only show up if you have at least 1 message from said character).

Also, when choosing certain nicknames for certain characters to call you, like Saki, they make their dialogues change and I love those kinds of details in a game. Hi there! Work on chapter 2 started in late December, and I've been posting previews for subscribers on Patreon every week. The first update should be ready around late February/early March. A more concrete release date will be announced later this month.
What a great game, the story is good and iike the characters, but one question is their a way to deepen the relationship with the sensai? I feel like i miss something their, I have her number but only can meet her in the bar. I would like to know how her story goes further, of course the let me call it juicy stuff. And oh great cliffhanger at the end.

Android I'm guessing? As long as you don't uninstall the game your saves should be fine. Simply download the new APK and install it, it should update the old app with your saves still in place.
If you ever want to make a backup of your saves or move them over to another device, they're located in /Android/data/com.atrx.lostinyou/files/saves.

I feel like development is going kinda slow with Kurumi... Ikari and Kurumi are definitely my favorite though

Sandbox with locations and very minor affection points requirements (nothing overly grindy) and a built-in in-game guide if you wish to use one.
A VN mode is currently under consideration and may be added in v0.8.
